Tommy Tippetts: Endurance Solo Rower

Athlete Profiles No Comments

Tommy Tippetts is not your ordinary endurance athlete. He is planning to row across the Atlantic, on his own, as part of the grueling 2011 Woodvale Challenge that commences on the 4th of December 2011.

Just to make life harder Tommy has not come from a strong sailing background or lived his life on the water. Having learnt to row whilst in his final year at University, Tommy realised that it was not going to be the great skill of rowing that was going to get him across the Atlantic. This challenge will prove to be a mental challenge of strength and endurance to deal with such a long period away and alone with help not close at hand should it be required.

Over the next 9 months Orbana will be following his progress in training with regular video blogs of his training and snippets of what he is up to in order to prepare for this mammoth challenge. Orbana is proud to sponsor Tommy in this amazing feat.
