Tom Parsons: Road to London 2012

With only months to go until London 2012, Britain’s most consistent high jumper of recent years is doing everything he can to ensure he books his place at this summer’s Olympics and will be competing for a medal when he’s there.

However, it’s not all been plain sailing for Tom Parsons. Having opted to have surgery in November 2011, Tom then missed the 2012 indoor season and now has less time to record the required Olympic qualification height of 2.31m.

In addition he is working with a new coach this year, and with only five or six competitions in which to make the required 2.31m jump, the pressure is on!

However with a PB of 2.31m, Tom’s confident he can hit those heights and further this year. With a longer end of season break and a new coach he’s looking to jump up to 2.35m – which would put him in with a great shout of a medal this summer.

And Orbana will be supporting him every step of the way!

“Orbana Healthy Energy drinks are a welcome addition to my training programme. In Beijing I felt my performance was slightly inhibited by illness and so this time around, I need to be confident that my body is healthy, hydrated and energised in the final months prior to the big event. The way that the body is fuelled for every session is therefore fundamental to increasing overall performance.”
