As one of the most successful Team GB Judo athletes of recent times, and with three previous competitions under her belt, Karina Bryant knows exactly how to prepare for this summer and is leaving no stone unturned in her preparations.

As a Judo heavyweight there are few training partners available in the UK for Karina. So at the start of 2012 she spent two months training in Japan, where there are a lot more Judo players available.

After a successful two months in the Far East at the start of 2012, Karina returned to take part in the European Championships in Russia, taking the Bronze medal home for a second time. A great result after missing half of 2011 with a neck injury!

Currently ranked 1st in the UK and 16th in the world, Karina is certainly one to watch in the summer!

Listen to Karina Bryant talk about her motivation for London 2012 and training in Japan.
